What Dress Pants to Wear With Ankle Boots
It's a genuine shock to me that FRAME's Le Croyden Bootie's are still in stock (let alone didn't sell out immediately).
I'm guessing it's because the product photos on Nordstrom's website don't do them any justice. So just trust me (and Shana, who also loves them) when I say the FRAME booties are so dang GOOD. They're super-comfy and I'm having a blast styling them.
Lug Sole, Leather, & Light as a Feather: FRAME's Le Croyden Booties
In the product images online, the Le Croyden Booties look like heavy combat boots, something that I originally imagined would compete with Dr. Marten's. But in real life, the boots are much more lightweight. My jaw actually dropped open when I lifted them from their box.
The upper lining is made from leather, but in such a soft, buttery, stretchy way that our team actually debated in a Zoom meeting whether we believed it was leather or not. They're so soft and unexpectedly easy to slip on and off the foot. I would argue you don't even need socks while wearing them.
These FRAME boots are already my favorite shoe for fall. I'm excitedly gearing up to get a lot of wear out of them. I know I really love something when it goes the distance in my wardrobe. FRAME's Le Croyden Bootie make jeans, dresses, and even knit pants look good.

Cropped Jeans With Boots? Ankle Length Wins
The boots looks almost futuristic, yet are still so effortlessly cool. They have the perfect amount of hug to the ankle without feeling restricting, and they slip seamlessly underneath jeans.
The shaft has a lower height than any other boot I own, which I love, and I realized right away these would be perfect for ankle length jeans. They also work with full length jeans, but I personally prefer to show off the boot a little more. What didn't work for me were jeans with a significant crop — I didn't love how my calf peeked out between the shoe and jean when I was standing up.
Thankfully, most of my jeans hit right at the ankle.

FRAME Le Croyden Bootie Fit Notes
I run between a size 9 1/2 and 10 for shoes, or between a 40 and 41 in European sizing. After originally ordering size 10 (40.5EU according to the chart), I exchanged for a 10.5 (41EU). I agree with Nordstrom's note about sizing up 1/2 size!
1. Urban-Chic For Days: FRAME Le Croyden Bootie + Knit Sweater Blazer

The Le Croyden Bootie is perfect for the fall looks I'm (admittedly) already starting to dream up.
If you're looking for an unbelievably comfortable sweater jacket do NOT skip Vince's Sweater Knit Blazer. I purchased the longer "cardigan coat" from Vince last year, and loved it so much I decided to invest in this shorter version too. I have no regrets. Simply put, I want to live my whole life in it.
2. Balanced With A Bodysuit: Le Croyden Booties + '90s-Style White Jeans

I was so pleased to pull on these FRAME boots with my go-to white jeans (reviewed first in my coastal granddaugther post). I originally thought it could be a little much to pair a lug sole boot with white jeans, but when balancing it out with a black bodysuit up top, I adored the way it all came together!
3. Show Off The Boots (& A Little Shoulder): Lug Sole Booties + Levi's Ribcage Ankle Jeans

Levi's Ribcage Ankle jeans are the shortest length of jean I felt like could still work (for reference, I'm 5'9″ – so this will work differently depending on your specific height). I tried on Levi's Wedgie jeans, first, but the jeans fell just a little too short (and a little too tight) for what I felt looked flattering.
I love the way these ribcage jeans hit right at the top of the boot, showing off the full boot!
4. A Summery Outfit That Shows Some Leg: FRAME Booties + A Slip Dress

I wanted to try the FRAME boots with something more summery that would show off considerable leg. I don't love the way jean shorts and boots look on me, so I opted for a silk dress instead. Since I much prefer a casual look over a dressy one, I threw on an oversized sweatshirt to balance it all out.
The slip dress I have is currently sold out in this color pink, but I found a very similar option over on Revolve, as well as a gorgeous slip dress at J.Crew in earthy colors that actually caused me to let out a little sigh of delight when I clicked through.
Style hack? If you're like me and find dresses that fall calf level to cut off your height, I simply pin up the sides underneath my sweatshirt to show off more leg. I've actually even tucked this dress up into shapewear I was wearing underneath and it worked like a charm.
5. Monochromatic For The Win: Lug Sole Boots + Free People Freya Sweater Set

I'm over the moon in love with this sweater set. I love that it's a soft knit material, but looks far more sophisticated than loungewear. If nothing else, the set is worth the buy for the pants alone, they fit like a dream. It comes in several different gorgeous colors, but this one is Black Charcoal.
And the way the bottom cuff seems to flow right into the gathering detail on the FRAME boots? Match made in heaven.
If you give these boots a try, let me know! I would love to know what you think of them!
